Trainee Office Administrator

Monday to Thursday 9am – 17.30

Friday 9am - 13:00 (Early finish/No lunch Break)


The Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced insolvency administrator to join our successful business recovery team at Brailey Hicks. The role will comprise of day-to-day office administration and to assist with a mixed portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency cases where you will play a pivotal role in managing a range of complex insolvency cases from initiation through to closure.

You will be working with a dedicated team of insolvency practitioners, managers and administrators. We support a range of businesses and people, including companies looking to restructure or dissolve, creditors requiring debt recovery support and individuals/companies facing insolvency. The role requires an understanding of insolvency processes, as well as the ability to handle multiple cases.

The role for a senior administrator is to join our team at Brailey Hicks in Plympton, Devon.

About you

  • A clear understanding and expanding knowledge of all regulatory and statutory requirements as appropriate.
  • Insolvency experience and working knowledge of the associated procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Competent at using Microsoft Office
  • Team worker
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus.
  • A desire to build a long-term career in business recovery and insolvency.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rewarding working environment.
  • To be resilient, able to multi-task and work independently/flexibly.
  • To be organised and conscientious.
  • A minimum of 5 years insolvency experience is necessary with at least 2 years experience with MVL’s.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable as is an excellent grasp of the written word.
  • You will report to and be supported in your role by a manager.
  • Professional and motivated.


Skills Required

Organisation skills – be able to prioritise tasks to manage competing pressures.

Time management be able to work to set deadlines.

Communication be able to produce clear, accurate correspondence and communicate clearly on the telephone. Be able to draft files notes of meetings and phone calls.

The successful candidate will be supported with future training packages, which will be funded by Brailey Hicks.

Company pension.

Salary £25,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience).
